Connected vehicles are an emerging technology that requires partnerships between auto manufacturers and state transportation departments. The industry is moving forward with communication between automobiles and the network infrastructure built along major roadways and interstates. Big data is a big part of this movement, and data privacy must be a consideration. Emerging technologies come with new risks, especially when considering the ramifications of a cyberattack involving the infrastructure that would impact public safety.
